About

Southern Historian (formerly the Alabama Historian, Vols. I-III) is an annual journal published each spring at The University of Alabama under the direction of the Department of History and the Media Planning Board. Southern Historian is a non-profit journal that highlights the best new articles in southern history and culture.  It includes reviews of the latest books in all fields of American history. Each issue is written, refereed, and edited entirely by graduate students.
